Our Tradition
Always Know Your Family....
My elders instilled in me at a very young age the importance of always knowing my family. They visited one another, traveled together, told amazing stories & shared priceless photos. The more that is discovered & shared about our family’s story, the more we can learn about ourselves. Uncovering these amazing discoveries go beyond names and dates and can help us see our ancestors as real people.
By knowing who your family is we can learn where our ancestors came from, the languages they spoke and the religion they practiced.
By knowing who our family is we learn the health issues our ancestors dealt with that will allow us to be aware of the risks that we have of developing the same problems.
By knowing who our family is we can preserve family traditions and cultures.
As we unite together for this family reunion, let us learn and share our stories, customs, and even how we and our ancestors may have overcome tragedy. By doing this, we can help preserve our current family circle, keeping the history alive for generations to come.
I challenge each of us to continue to build our Family Tree by providing information that is needed to ensure that we all have an opportunity to know who our family is. Learning about our family can be a truly eye-opening experience! Click on the Family History Tab to get started on recording your memories.
